 | Botcon 2004 Report (Way Too Late For Modesty) BOTCON 2004 REPORT
(Four Months Too Late)
I know I wrote about this somewhere, but I’m not sure where it went. Anyway, long story short. Botcon was fun. Registration went smoothly, we didn’t get lost on our two-day drive to Pasadena, and arrived in good spirits. I spent $200 in the dealers’ room on NON-TF stuff, and my friends did the same. We ate lots of pizza and gorged on room service.
We went to the Peter Cullen panel and heard lots of fun stuff, but didn’t realize we needed a ticket to get his autograph, and when we found out, they were sold out. But nonetheless, we had a nice two-three days. Yep.

TRANSFORMER RUMBLE. We were lucky they didn’t have blades.

Me, standing next to perhaps the best of the robot-boy-cosplayers. I think I was drunk. That would explain why he was in my bed the next morning.

FLAMING DETH, who I met after one of the various panels NOT involving Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime).

More sexy Deth.

After our picture, I held up a big cardboard sign that said “Decepticons Rule!” Everyone attacked me. My body was never found.

“Yar! I’m an angry transformer! Look at my gritty teeth!”

These are my roomies, Anthony and Chris, who know far more about Transformers than I ever will.

The “Stash.”

I don’t know this guy, but I figured this was a picture-perfect-moment I’d never get again.
That’s it for what is considered by some to be the last Botcon ever. Hopefully it’ll be resurrected next year, in which case Anthony’ll force me to go again!
Sorry for taking four months FD,
~Nick Shogun

 | Re: Botcon 2004 Report (Way Too Late For Modesty) Arg! FD is a long-haired hippy! Good thing he got set-straight before he came to our God-fearing state. :o!
I approve heavily of this con report. =D I will stay tuned to the news to see if they ever find out about your body. "We are just poor, wandering corn farmers..."

 | Re: Botcon 2004 Report (Way Too Late For Modesty) That last picture there was highly scary.
The lunatic, the lover, and the poet Are of imagination all compact: One sees more devils than vast hell can hold, That is, the madman: the lover, all as frantic, Sees Helen's beauty in a brow of Egypt: The poet's eye, in a fine frenzy rolling, Doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven; And as imagination bodies forth The forms of things unknown, the poet's pen Turns them to shapes, and gives to airy nothing A local habitation and a name.

 | Re: Botcon 2004 Report (Way Too Late For Modesty) FD looks like this kid I know who wouldn't sell me a slice of pizza for like, three dollars. What a jerk. |

 | Re: Botcon 2004 Report (Way Too Late For Modesty) Dude, Kyle. At my college, people would give out free pizza for whoever would fill out surveys (!). But the thing is, they always bought too much pizza, so they'd be giving away the pizza at the end. It was a good way for bums like me to get free lunch.
Also, FD should not have cut his hair. Long hair for everyone but me! *waves sign* "We are just poor, wandering corn farmers..."

This month's "Transformer of the Month" is Cyclonus! He turns into a severely evil looking jet thing, and his primary function is badassery. |

 | Myth... or Man-Candy? I'm sure, after a while, everyone here imagined you really were a transformer. ----------------

 | Re: Myth... or Man-Candy? FD looks almost diametrically opposed to how I imagined him. Creepy.
