| I'm wearing cat ears! [Sugoicon 2002 update!] As many of you know, some of us RPGWWers have been planning another RPGWW convention. This time, Sugoicon in Erlanger, KY, was our excuse. Ten of us have gotten together for it today, and eight of us'll be together again tomorrow.
I registered a special account for use for these cons, Teh Jade Dragon, because my house is beginning to remind me of Dia's inn. Thursday Jak flew in. We got him settled in at my house, and messed around with a joint AIM account (probably spooked Kate a little, since no one knew the account at first XD) while listening to some of his music. The restaurant we ate at for supper served us some alcoholic drinks because my mum mentioned he was from England and legal there (even though he isn't quite...but close enough >P).
Friday, Koss flew in, and we drove up to Dayton to get him. We returned home to MST Magic Knight Rayearth for a bit, and soon UnclePervy, BrainWalker, and Reako/Slyfox showed up. We watched some more anime, played some RPGs, played some Uno (which is a damned good bit of fun when you get 6 kids together...), and chatted and such whatnot the rest of the day.
Today we all went to the first day of Sugoicon, after a bit of a late start. We (BrainWalker, Koss, and I) were late picking up Shiranai, because of some faulty directions (not my fault at all... ::coughcough:: I pay damned good attention to my surroundings, just ask AM :P). By the time we got back, around noontime, AM and LDC had been dropped off at the house, and we were all hungry so we went to get a bite of lunch. Jak had his first rootbeer and cheese fries, woo! We didn't actually get to the convention till around 1, where we met up with Kev/Kain44/ArgusDevilman.
The convention was a little small, for a gathering of its type, but not too bad. I probably wouldn't have gone on my own for the hell of it, but as I worded it before...the con was really an excuse for all of us to meet up. There was some DDR (which was a lot more interesting to watch when you have a lot of people who're good at it playing...we had one guy do the two-pad version, as well...and Shiranai competed against [some guy]). There was a game room next door to the DDR, some video rooms, some stuff and stuff. ^_^;; I'm not that great with descriptions (right now, since the house is still full)!
Bought some cat ears at the vendor's room, and a dwagon ring (and some weird ass sodapop-stuff with a marbely thing in it that rattles. The soda itself wasn't so great, but the bottle is damned nifty.
["Niftiness of the DAMNED!!!" -- Koss]
I know LDC bought a whole shitload of pocky, and Koss bought some rabbit ears...Reako bought a Slayers magazine, Shira bought a glorified whapping stick, and...MORE STUFF! :D! I watched Koss, Reako, and Jak play Ninja Burger [Koss needs to post his haiku], and...yeah, more stuff. >>;; ::will bug others to give better descriptions, since she pays such good attention to her surroundings::
So, yes, I'll update this again after tomorrow sometime, and post pictures when I get them transferred from my digicam. And yeah, I'll get others to post on here, too...just about everyone else is better to explain this than me.

| ..and I'M wearing rabbit ears. And a long fluffy tail. Yes, I am becoming increasingly fluffy. After a few years of going to anime cons, I will probably be a cabbit.
Anyway, Ninja Burger. I played a member of the dastardly (and extremely weight-loss-conscious) Lo Cal Clan. My goal was basically to be an evil person and kill the other ninja.
I wasn't very good at it. After a failed attempt to kill the Iron Ninja, Jak realized I was evil and attempted to kill me. I successfully threw an eggshell gernade at him which made a loud noise, thus focusing everyone's attention on him and forcing him to LOSE HONOR and to kill everyone who saw him. For reasons that will be explained later, this was extremely easy for him. In any case, I fled to destroy the assassins from a rival fast food chain who had come to destroy the ancestor of the man who brought cola to the East. (Did I mention we were in the past? No? Well, we were in the past.)
Anyway, Jak pursued, attempted to make a flying kick at my head...and rolled snake eyes. At this point, a house rule came into effect. Anyone who rolls snake eyes automagically becomes Snake Eyes, the silent ninja from G.I. Joe! Which made Jak exceptionally badass. He totally kicked me in the head causing my head to explode.
Now, another house rule: if your ninja is destroyed, you may compose a haiku about his death. If it is judged worthy by the Ninja Manager, you may create another ninja with a different name, but in all other ways identical to your previous ninja. My haiku for this occasion was:
Cowardly Lo Cal
Laid smack on Iron Ninja
Snake Eyes avenged him
My newly revived ninja then attempted to kill the assassins. Secretly reaching into his secret ninja pockets for a secret weapon, he retrieved....chopsticks. I then promptly attempted to poke the rival fast food chain assassins in the eyes. This was wonderfully unsuccesful, and the machete-wielding fast food worker promptly gutted me. Alas, I died again.
My haiku this time:
Creative dining
Chopsticks are for eating rice
Not for poking eyes
Meanwhile, Jak completed his mission, killed the assassins and wailed away on a guitar, all while remaining undetected (I'm not kidding).
It was great fun. Ninja Burger is wonderfully silly. ^_^
And I'm fluffy. And that's it.

| And I'm plotting to randomally attack all of you :) Umm WOOO! I think O_o While I understand how you all trained yourself up to be ninja's, how the heck to you all manage to get thrown into the past? And did Jak carry some dice to back then or did they actually have to use some acient form of dice?
Anyway :P You fun loving people seem to be having a blast, and it seems now we have more ninja on the board. A Fluffy White knight Ninja, scary Glare At You ninja (Dia :P) and foul mooded blast you and ya atoms into pieces Ninja.
*cough*

| Re: And I'm plotting to randomally attack all of you :) But Dia! You MUST pay attention to your surroundings, and you have a lot of common sense! After all, how else could you have given us such good directions to get to your house~!?
(Note: the solution to this problem = Mapquest. ^_^)
Anyway, if I do say so myself, it was definitely a good time. I picked up a Trigun wallscroll/hanging thingy, courtesy of Jak, what I can only describe as an "ultimate fanservice t-shirt" (I'll take a picture later), a Kuroneko plushie, a Tolkien Illustrated Encyclopedia (*thanks Jak again for the great birthday present thing*), a bottle of C. C. Lemon, that totally kickass lemon soda from Japan, and my own personal box of Pocky, which I have not eaten yet.
I'll probably post and summarize more and get into greater detail about what we did when Kate wakes up, as she's still sleeping and I don't wish to disturb her. ^_^

| *Decapitates Cho with guitar, resumes wailing* Ninja Burger was indeed a blast. After a little bit of a rocky start (in which, due to a failed honor roll, a telephone both fell on my head containing two time travelling gaijin) I, as Koss said, rolled snake eyes, making me the dude himself. This meant I could do anything. No rolls, what I will is done. Just one problem.
As Snake Eyes, you can't talk.
This actually suited me fine, since I'd buggered my voice box the previous night while playing Uno. I know the dangers of excessive use of profanity. So, what happened was I wrote my action down on a piece of paper (since we all know that Snake Eyes isn't illiterate) and got Reako (and Dia once) to read out my turn to the rest of the group.
<.< I think I got away with all the stuff I did because I made references to a certain website. For example, "totally flipping out and killing all the guards." Wailing on a guitar certainly helped my cause. In the end I finished my mission successfully, even if I only had 7 fingers left, since I didn't succeed with any of my actions before I rolled snake eyes while trying to kick Koss in the head.
Anyways, more later, as we'll be heading off to the con again soon. Hopefully. ^_^ | Teh Jade Dragon Bar Patron Posts: 5 (10/20/02 10:08 am) Reply | Edit | Del | Re: I'm wearing cat ears! [Con update!] We now have a whole new set of catchphrases and inside jokes.

| Re: I'm wearing cat ears! [Con update!] Well, I'm back from taking LDC to the airport, and I'm sure she'll have her own stuff to post when she gets back to her dorm, but until then, seeing as how we didn't find the time to make a joint post in the midst of everything else, I figured I should semi-summarize anything else that was worth mentioning, and take pictures of some of the stuff I acquired that's worth showing off!
This shirt can only be described as "ultimate catgirl fanservice." I'm wearing it backwards in the picture just so you can see the front of it.
Kuroneko! Everyone's favorite randomly appearing Trigun cat!
Trigun wall hanging. Is Vash not the most badass guy ever?
I think, honestly, that the most eventful things at the con were watching Sean DDR (I got a picture of that XD) and the various purchases I made, though LDC, Pervy and I sat down and watched a gameshow thing that was done by the con people. They actually kept track of the audience's score if the contestants failed to answer the questions and someone in the audience could answer them correctly (the audience WON, with 1600 points to the nearest competitor's score of 1450 XD). The guy who was in the lead was being a real smartass, so the host made him draw an item from "the bag of doom." He won, from the bag of doom, some supposedly really bad anime VHS cassette and a Sailor Moon toy. *laughs* He ended up winning a box set of some sort and numerous other prizes at the end. Unfortunately, it's not as entertaining a story as that of the players of Ninja Burger.
Other than that, we saw some great cosplayers--someone was Tsukara (I think that's his name) from .hack, and we also saw the whole cast of FFX (Lulu played DDR!) LDC and I saw at least two Xelloss' and at least one Lina Inverse, some guy with a fish in his backpack neither of us could recognize, a couple of Soras (from Kingdom Hearts), a Faye Valentine, several Vash the Stampedes, a Legato, a Wolfwood, a Shinji Ikari (played by our very own ArgusDevilmen/Kain), a couple of Inu Yashas, a Menchi (from Excel Saga), numerous other people I seriously don't know who they all were, and a DOMOKUN! ARGH! DOMOKUN EATS YOU! I got his picture, too. XD Oh, and numerous people stopped me while I was walking around to take my picture because I was carrying the CORN sign from the Ren Fair with me, and I was wearing Mike's fuzzy tail. ^_^
And finally, this post was brought to you by Pocky, the "chocolate covered biscuit sticks" preferred by rabid otakus almost three to one over any similar product, and also by the Rurouni Kenshin theme! *plays it again*

| AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I'M ALIVE I'M BACK AT DUKE OMG!
Seriously this is a good thing since well last night I had a little problem...my flight that went to Pittsburg was delayed long enough to make me miss my connection there to RDU. When I went to get a ticket fix for a new flight, the earlies flight they could find for me was at 6:45 THE NEXT DAY.
Dia's mom turned out to be my lifesaver since I didn't know AM's number and I wasn't sure what else to do. Apparently if the airport delays your flight like this or something, they're obligated to put you up in a hotel if you have to sleep overnight, which is what happened fortunately. Later AM and I got in touch and chatted with each other over the phone for a while.
But either way, the new flight worked out fine and I'm back at Duke, albeit missing my morning classes >.>;;
I spent the weekend at AM's house, it was really great, his parents are so nice. ^_^ As most people may have seen our little joint account over the weekend. And that was AM doing the biting, I swear! Saturday we drove for a while and ended up at Dia's house, where I got to meet Mr. Nightstand himself and take his funny British money.
The convention itself was A LOT smaller compared to Otakon, I mean a lot, but it was still pretty good, quite a few cosplayers there. I saw a few Xellosses (SCARY ONES!), that person from .hack//sign, the complete cast of FFX, and even someone dressed up as MENCHI! As everyone else has said, I bought a ton of pocky (they don't sell that stuff anywhere around here) and a set of Guilty Gear X figures (one of which is Ky, wee!).
At the convention, AM, Pervy, BW, Kev and I all went to this little anime game show thing. Before it started they were throwing out the t-shirts and I managed to snag one...only to see it was a catgirl fanservice t-shirt, so I let AM have it. The game itself was rather fun, the audience totally owned the contestants and I even got to answer a question. The best part was whenever one of the contestants pissed off the host, they had to take something from the "Bag of Doom", which contained so really crappy prizes, though I forget what they were.
Later after the convention, we all went off and had dinner. BW was supposed to follow Dia's car, but somewhere along the way we ended up following the wrong car and wound up in someone's driveway. O_o;; But we managed to get our way back and I had a threeway with AM and everyone else.
Sunday AM and I hung out together and went to the mall. They had a pet store there full of wai puppies and kitties. ^_^
That's about it, I'd like to thank AM's parents and Dia's parents for all their help. ^_^ I'd also like everyone to START MAKING PLANS TO ATTEND OTAKON WHICH MAY BE IN BALTIMORE IN JULY. YOU WILL ALL COME! RAWR! | For NO reason whatsoever, I feel like wandering around the castle unarmed and alone! |

Well it was my first con and all so I am not gonna be all that great at describing it. Well as you should know I was cosplaying as Shinji Ikari. And I was apparently very good at it. Considering how many people asked for my picture Anyway..................
Well the first day started off kinda slow. I woke up, got into my costume, headed down stairs at about 8AM. I signed up, got my badge and was all set to go. Although since it was still setting up I went to the the lobby and killed some time.I sat down by the fountain and read the pamphlet, spotting my first cosplayer of the day, a Trieze!(He won a award!) After much playing of Mega Man Zero,(2 hours worth!) I decided to take out my Yu-Gi-Oh deck and mess with it.
At about 11:25 someone came over and asked me to trade cards. I did, and then we had a little duel. We had to cut it short however for the opening ceremonies started. I went in, sat down and listened to them. After about 45 minutes it ended and I sprinted off to check out Love Hina. And boy was I glad I did, That had to be the second anime to get me to laugh that hard. (Excel saga being the first) After watching that for awhile i went off to listen to the karaoke. It was good, too say the least. One girl even managed to sing Akane's Baka Song to almost perfection! (look up the song and you'll get my point)
After sitting there for about and hour listening to the singing I went to watch some of Excel Saga. As always it was humorous, and I got so caught up in it I lost track of time and missed some of X TV! Realizing this I ran off to the other video room to catch the end of the 2nd episode. I stayed through the 3rd and waited until they started showing Otaku No Video. Otaku No Video was a anime based on well, Otakus! It was funny if you could catch the references they made. Luckily I was able to and was quite amused.
After that I got up to buy some Pocky, heading back the the video room again to watch the Anime Music Videos. THIS had to be one of the most humorous things there. The videos had to be voted on for Action, humor, and drama. Two of the humor ones were Extremely funny.
The AMV of many deaths: Excel Saga - Tubthumping. (This one won the humor award!)
Golden Pete: Golden Boy - Cuban Pete.
Anyway, after that I sat around eating my pocky until Hell Sing started. Boy was that worth the wait, even if it was at 11PM. After that I finally headed upstairs to end my first day of Sugoicon.
More to come! (pictures will come as well with my edit.)

| Re: Pa jai nis, spaced phonetically 'cause I can't spell it. Sweet lord, AM, that is an AWESOME t-shirt!! You, my friend, are a lucky, luck, bastard.
I'd have to say that this weekend was helluva fun, and if Sugoicon is gonna stay down there near Dia's place, we really should make it an annual RPGWW thing. Even if Otakon is bigger! Rawr!
Day1:
Well, not much happened on Friday, actually. Other than that our well-laid plans completely fell apart, and we didn't meet up at Dayton Airport or AM's house like we were supposed to, so Joe and I basically just headed out to pick up Reako, after I drew a pic of my up-coming kung-foo kuma-jin character, which AM can attest to
Once we got to Dia's house around... ummm... *thinks*
Well, mid-afternoon. Anyway, much huggling ensued. Of special note was the beeline glomptackle Pervy administered to Alex the second a line of sight was available I'd have to say Alex was indeed of the deservingness. I think I hugged him more than I hugged Dia, Kate, and even chibiJesus (Mike). Alex is like, the grooviest British guy I've ever met, and considering that I lived in England for four years, that's actually high praise I hope his voice recovers from all that crazy yelling and noisemaking during Friday night's crazy game of crazy Uno, which was, among other things, crazy.
Uno was followed by anime, which was followed by bullshit, which was followed by a little more anime. And then... well, actually, then I think everybody went to sleep except for Alex, Reako and I who stayed up late watching me play Wild Arms 3, which is a damn good reason to own a PS2.
Day2:
A Kate and another Brian appeared! OMG!!! ^_^
Saturday was, of course, con day. A day that will live on in infamy, forever. The very first badass cosplayer we saw was Fay Valentine, before we even got in the damn building. That was actually quite possibly the most perfect costume of all the cosplayers I saw that day. The second badass cosplayer appeared not long after that. 'Twas one other than Legato Bluesummers, chillin' on a couch while we procured our registration passes. Badass cosplayer number 3 was hanging out in the DDR room. Felicia served to further my lifelong commitment to the proposition that catgirls are WAI. Fortunately for her, she was wearing a flesh bodysuit to which the fur was attached, so she didn't freeze to death or have hentai otaku staring at her instead of just admiring. She even had a little yellow butterfly in her hair that totally served the whole look. She also laid some smack down on Skuld at the DDR machine ^_^
So, that's THREE badass cosplayers in like the first 10 minutes. By this point, I made a promise to myself that someday, I would join the proud ranks of the hard-working cosplayer. And I will, too!!
Speaking of DDR... there's nothing quite like watching a bunch of random anime fans getting all kinds of crazy jiggy with their bad selves. We saw Felicia, Skuld, a Shirt Ninja, some armless guy (actually, he just had his arms pulled in from his sleeves), Lulu (who had the cutest little cactuar plushie!), Sean, of course, and the most badass DDR player EVER. This guy... man. He was this young asian guy in a buisness suit, and he was INSANE. He took on the dreaded two-pad maniac mode. That's right, one suited man dancing across both pads. And he wasn't even technical about it, he had his own groovy style going on; flaling and spinning and gyrating all over the place. It was truly a crowd-pleasing event, and he got standing ovations after all three of his "performances". That guy is my HERO.
The next room wasn't very anime-ish. They had 6 24" TVs set up with various gaming consoles and fighting games. And one shooter. Near as I can tell, they were Time Splitters 2, some permutation of Street Fighter vs SNK, some nifty 3-d Street Fighter thing I didn't know existed, Super Smash Brothers: Melee, some 3d gundam mecha combat thing, and Soul Calibur. In this room we met Sora, our first Vash, Wakka(complete with blitzball), Tidus, Iori, a Kuja who probably would have won the honor of badass costume #4 if it weren't for the fact that it was a guy in a thong, and... uhhh... some other cosplayers I tried my hand at SSB:M a couple times, but that wasn't nearly as intriguing as the Gundam combat thing. It wasn't a big hit with the con-goers. In fact, only one kid was playing it, even though there was another pad. So, I figured I'd give it a shot. It's really, really hard to figure out what the Hell you're doing in a combat simulator that's written entirely in Japanese, but after 4 matches, I think we finally got it almost figured out, but by then, it was time to move on.
The Dealers. Oh my GOD, the dealers! I ran into a bajillion things I wanted that I couldn't buy. Most notably, half a million wallscrolls, posters, and cells, a couple Escaflowne CDs, an Escaflowne movie collection box thing, and a Valkyrie Profile art book. *snif* However, thanks to my limited funding and Jak's boundless generosity, I was able to procure for myself some toppo (inverted pocky), a couple bottles of sweet, sweet Ramune soda, a Kuroneko plushie, a Saber Marionette J poster, and a Hellsing wallscroll that my parents will probably disapprove of. There were also loads and loads and tons and mounds and other synonyms for "lots" of cosplayers present. So many, I can't even remember them all. Of special note were Inu-Yasha, some half-naked chick, Irvine Kinneas, some other half-naked chick, Citan Uzuki (badass costume #4), some chick with a groovy red silk dress and way too much cleavage, Xu, Yuna, Merle, Tifa, Selphie, some little foxgirl I didn't recognize, quite possibly the best Vash the Stampede at the whole con, (badass costume #6), some guy who looked exactly like Joe, only bigger, and, of course... DOMO-KUN!!! (badass costume #7)
The Vendor Room was the part of the con where we sort of lost each other and went off to do seprate things for awhile. For me, those things were varied. I talked to... ummm... someone from the Megatokyo behind-the-scenes supporting crew who was sitting at a table just outside the dealer's room, who's name escapes me right now, who sold me my very own preorder of that Megatokyo book which will, most likely, ownzor m3. I also got a chance to chat with one Jason Balduf, who's expertly tailored Melfina costume I recognized from the CG Shrines. He's a really nice guy, and a talented artist. Unfortunately, buy this time, I had wasted practically all my funds, and couldn't afford a sketch from him
Yes, that was badass costume number 8
After that, I wandered around aimlessly for a bit before running into Dia, who escorted me to the Ninjaburger RP already in progress. There were only two chairs available, and one was Dia's, so I took the seet between Reako and Char Anzamble. I'm sure as Hell glad Dia found me, 'cause Ninjaburger RPing is one of the most joyously silly group activities I've witnessed in a long time. Any game in which you can punch through someone's skull with a takeout box and pull it out clean and unscathed is worthy in my book The guy that was GMing the whole thing had quite possibly the last voice I would ever expect to hear tell tales of crazy ninja-fu, and yet, it was so incredibly appropriate for the tone of the game. Great fun. I'd have to say the highlight of the entire thing was when silent Snake-Eyes Alex scaled this silo thing and proceeded to wail on a guitar, undedected, interrupted only once when he decided to use his guitar to decapitate some assassin guy.
After that... uhh... some other stuff happened. Yea. Then we all met up and headed out to have some dinner. Unfortunately for the occupants of my vehicle, however, I somehow managed to lose Dia's mom's car and follow an entirely different white car to entirely the wrong place. Fortunately, we weren't that far off track, and through the efforts of Kate, Brian, and her cell phone, were able to get some help from Dia's dad. That is officially, the wierdest, craziest, and most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me while I was driving
After dinner at Skyline, which consisted largely of stupid "fiddy percent mocheese" and "pants" jokes that almost killed Kate, we headed back to ground zero for anime, anime, uno, and some more anime. Sean shared some more Kenshin with us, and some absolutely hilarious outtakes from an anime whose name escapes me now... I got to show off Saber Marionette J, which gave me warm fuzzies inside, 'cuase it's a great series that not a lot of people are familiar with. I assume it went over well, 'cause one particular scene ended up becoming a running gag throughout the entire remainder of the weekend
:: shakes hands, poses :: "There's lots of reds, and blues..."
Day 3:
Stuff happened. I'd elaborate, but quite frankly, I'm tired of typing
Note to those who were present: I typed up a LOT here. Chances are, I screwed something up. Feel free to issue corrections where applicable
Edit: I actually started writing this before Argus had posted. Yes, that is the Felicia that was displaying her DDR skillz, and no, I can't believe I forgot to mention Azaka XP
In light of his photographic evidence, I would like to add Azaka and Lulu to my "badass costume" list

Kay, yesterday, that is, Sunday, the 8 of us (Koss, Brian[BW], Pervy, Shiranai, Reako, Jak, The Mom, and I) went to eat at Olive Garden (an Italian restaurant) for supper.
Olive Garden is normally expensive, but there are some deals there...like the $7 pizzas that feed three people (when you take the free breadsticks into account). So the eight of us ate for under $30, and had a great dinner...the food was really good, and so was the service. ^_^
Koss got a salad, which had some peppercini (sp) peppers in them. I grabbed one and ate it...as part of my evil plan. ] I handed a second one to Jak, and let him try it...poor guy spat it out nearly as soon as he tried it. XD I was laughing so hard....he still owes me one death for that. | BrainWalker Purveyor of Fuzzy Things Posts: 451 (10/25/02 2:04 pm) Reply | Edit | Del

| piccies! The night before the con, we sat up to play some Uno....
A fine photo of Reako, Koss, Jak, and Brian('s back).
Same group again...lookee! Those're some of my dwagons! ^_^
Joe and I step into the picture.
Them damn crazy Brits. >.> XP And Bro's about to stabber Jak with a key.
You can just barely see the rear end of my tiny little flying pig ornament, that hangs off the light there, in the upper right hand corner...
Joe, the antisocial bum, plays on his laptop and ties up our phone line! :D! (I love ya, bro ^_^)
Brian poses with Mike's Mokona plushie, which is, mysteriously, holding a spoon.
Saturday night was full of anime, uno, and music. Look closely here...you can see my fan of the future, Jak holding a spoon, my kitty ears, and Reako's back. XP He was sneaky like ninja Saturday night...we barely ever got good pictures of him.
"Brian, turn around and get in the damn picture!"
"Huh?"
Can you feel the LOVE?
Hamtaro says CHEESE! And you can see better Mike's and my ears that spooked Brian's (AM's) dad out with.
If I were Kate, I'd be a little worried, too.

There should be a couple odd pictures of me trying not to get slaughtered in a fight to the death with Sean. Funny stuff | teh Mom official lurker (10/28/02 12:25 am) Reply | Edit | Del | Re: I'm wearing cat ears! [Con update!] I sincerely loved having you all at my house. I can't believe I can have 8 to 10 kids in my house and yet it feels like family. Just watching everyone get along, and have so much fun...I laughed so much. I don't think I've had so much fun in a long time. Everyone was so gracious and nice to me.
Alex ate more peanut butter than he should have been allowed...although he kept putting the PB in the fridge. That's okay though, because I loved those chocolates you gave me. It was great having you over...you are the most curteous boy I've ever met.
Mike, every time I see you, I can't help but smile, because as soon as I see you, you've got the biggest smile on your own face...and so does Dia. You're a real joy to have around...you take care of yourself and are no trouble at all. And you love my daughter...what more can I ask? [typist's comment: >//>;;;]
Joe, I love having you around. Give you a phone line for your computer and the basics of food, and you're happy. You give wonderful hugs and have an outstanding sense of humor. I concur with you being an honorary son, since Dia has already adopted you.
Big Brian, I don't think I've ever met anyone who immediately makes me feel so comfortable, and loved, and appreciated. My God...if I make you pancakes..."Oh my God, these are great!" Everything is great to you and you are a wonderful hugger with a great laugh -- I love your laughter. You're also a great driver, and I'm trying to learn to be as patient a driver as you are...between you and Joe, I'll get there sometime. :P
Nathan, it was so nice having you around. I enjoyed your company very much...especially our conversation in the car the last day of Sugoicon. I respect that you are a very responsible son. Oh, and I have found your robe....the couch ate it. It has been washed and can be retreived on your next visit.
Kate...LadyDC... I was so happy to get to see you again. I feel like you belong here, and I wish you could have stayed longer. But I understand that you'd much rather be with Brian. *wink wink* I'm glad everything worked out with the airplane and that you got back home safely.
Brian, it was good to see you again. You're always a lot of fun and open and receptive to whatever chaos is going on. Of course, that might have to do with the fact that Kate got to fly in for your birthday. Don't be a stranger, you don't live that far away.
Sean...last but not least. I absolutely positively HAVE to see you DDR. I don't know how, when, or where...but I've heard so much about it and you enjoy it so much, that I would just get a big kick out of it. You have a good sense of obligation, but remember, you'll always be able to be a kid here, with us. So please don't be a stranger.
Kevin...hopefully next time, I'll be able to meet you. One more kid won't crowd the house, and if you're my daughter's friend, then you're just as welcome as everyone else.
I had so much fun with you all in the house. No one ignores beceause I'm an "old person." Everyone is curteous, picks up after themselves (mostly -- unlike Dia [typist's comment: HEY!]), and makes the house feel like a home again. You are my family.
I just want everyone to know as a group, I could not have hand-picked out better friends for Dia than she has picked out for herself. You're all one of life's greatest gifts to my daughter. You're all welcome to the house anytime -- if you ever need advice, help, or just someone to talk to, you can call me, you can email me, you can stop by and say "hi," I'd love it. If you're lucky I might even cook for you. But I'll avoid feeding you White Castles (especially Alex). And I'll leave the mushrooms out of the hamburger helper.
Love,
~teh Mom~

| Re: I'm wearing cat ears! [Con update!] Thanks again for your hospitality, "mom," and I appreciate the...well, compliments and lovely comments. ^^; I'd love to drop by more often and whatnot, but I'm afraid it's an impossibility for me, living roughly an hour and a half away and not having my own driver's license--if I had one, it'd be different, perhaps, but then, I'm the sort that, assuming his parents didn't give him hell about it, would be off in his car every other weekend to drive all the way to North Carolina. XD
I greatly appreciate your allowing us absolutely insane, crazy, yelling, swearing, food devouring teenagers and young adults (who are really more like kids than adults, I swear *laughs*) into your home, driving us around, and generally doing so much for us. And I'm glad you were able to get Mike over again, too! Damn good work there!
In conclusion, thanks for everything, and may you be blessed a thousand times over.
